Wexford make hard work of reaching the Leinster Hurling Final.
Having beaten Kilkenny in the previous round Wexford were expected to see off Dublin with relative ease in this Leinster Hurling Championship clash. A good start meant that Wexford were 4 points ahead before an unintended unusual penalty from Eamonn Morrissey brought Dublin back into the game.
Wexford were guilty of sloppy wides before goals from Gary Laffan and a Damien Fitzhenry penalty helped them to a half time lead of 2-08 to 1-03. In a low scoring second half Wexford could only add another 4 points to their total but it would be enough to see them through to the Leinster Final.
The final score was Wexford 2-12 Dublin 1-09.
