A group of folk dancers from Nikolaov in the Ukraine give a performance in St Stephens Green, Dublin.
Dubliners are treated to a colourful display of folk singing and dancing at the bandstand in St Stephens Green. The folk group come from Nikolaev, the main ship building centre of the Black Sea in Southern Ukraine. The city is located in the same region where the Chernobyl nuclear explosion occurred on April 26 1986.
The dancers were in Ireland to perform at the Siamsa Tíre Theatre in Tralee county Kerry from 6 to 8 May 1986. The Pribushski Amateur Folk Song and Dance Troupe of 30 men and women were the first group group from the Ukraine to perform at the Tralee Theatre.
