On the 50th Anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising the Department of Post and Telegraphs issues commemorative stamps.

The commemorative stamps were very much in demand with long queues at the GPO on Dublin's O'Connell Street with people eager to get their hands on the limited edition postage stamps.

The stamps feature the seven signatories of the Irish proclamation Joseph Plunkett, Padraig Pearse, James Connolly, Thomas J Clarke, Eamonn Ceannt, Sean Mac Diarmadad, and Thomas MacDonagh.

This footage was part of an RTÉ News report broadcast on 21 April 1966.
