As preparations continue for the 50 year anniversary of the 1916 Rising, O'Connell Street in Dublin gets the Jubilee treatment.

Bunting, wreaths, flags, and flowers line the street. This footage shows the street in the week leading up to the commemorations in 1966, with viewing stands erected outside the GPO. A painting of Padraig Pearse is on display in the window of Clerys Department Store.

This footage was part of an RTÉ News report broadcast on 9 April 1966.
