Princes Street, one of the busiest shopping streets in Cork, is to be reserved for pedestrians only.

Princes Street in Cork city becomes the first pedestrian only street in Ireland.

This footage shows works underway to prepare Princes' Street in Cork. Lord Mayor Peter Barry TD speaks to RTÉ News about the pedestrianisation and what it will mean for traders in the area. Barry also believes that this is just the beginning of a number of pedestrian streets in Cork.
