Dubliners take time out from their Christmas shopping to listen to traditional musicians on Henry Street in Dublin city centre.

The musicians are doing their bit in an attempt to raise funds for an Irish Cultural Institute for Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the main organisation in Ireland dedicated to promoting the music, song, dance and language of Ireland.

The Irish Cultural Institute Cultúrlann na hÉireann was eventually established in 1976 in Monkstown, County Dublin.
