Louis Theroux describes Jimmy Saville as the strangest person he has ever met.
Louis Theroux has spent his career seeking out the weird and the wonderful. Coinciding with the publication of his book 'Call of the Weird' Louis Theroux was a guest on the The Late Late Show where he spoke to Pat Kenny about Jimmy Saville, Neil and Christine Hamilton and UFO seekers.
In this excerpt from the interview Louis describes Jimmy Saville as the strangest person he has ever spent time with while making his documentary series. He describes how he felt he had a connection with Jimmy Saville from watching 'Jim'll Fix It' and 'Top of the Pops' when he was growing up. It was only when older that he realised that Jimmy Saville was "a bit more unusual. Louis Theroux describes how Jimmy Saville keeps all his late mother's clothes in a closet in her room, which is exactly as it was when she died 30 years previously. Saville continues to get his mothers clothes dry-cleaned once a year.
They're momentos. They make much better momentos than photographs. Nothing morbid.
