A new Irish newspaper aimed at the Irish living abroad hits the news stands on 26 October 1995. The newspaper will be produced in Dublin, printed in Meath and distributed worldwide.

Ahead of the first publication RTÉ News visited the newspaper's offices and met the editor Gavin Becton.

'The Irish Globe' is a monthly tabloid aimed a potentially huge readership of 70 million first and later generations of Irish living overseas. The initial print-run will cater for 100,000 readers the publication is the brainchild of Cian Murphy and Gavin Becton. The Irish Globe plans to include property, business, and sports news from Ireland.
