Tynagh Mines in County Galway are officially opened by An Taoiseach Sean Lemass offering new economic potential for the region.

Sean Lemass addresses an audience at the official opening of the Tynagh Mines Processing Plant. The Taoiseach comments on the commercial potential for the mines. 

It is the policy of the government to assist the establishment of viable, industrial activities in this country.

Chairman of the mining company, Patrick Hughes, takes the Taoiseach on a tour of the mines. Those in attendance at the opening include Brian Lenihan.
