Republic of Ireland football manager Giovanni Trapattoni makes his first Irish chat show appearance since taking up the job in 2008.

Trapattoni is joined on the sofa by his interpreter Manuela Spinelli.

Trapattoni talks about why he took the job of managing the Republic of Ireland football team in light of the fact that he had many other offers and opportunities on the table. His decision was partly influenced by former Republic of Ireland player Liam Brady, who he had consulted when the offer came in from the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).  He also talks about the challenges of the job and says

I'm not San Giovanni

He explains that while his English may not be the best, the players can understand him.
