Eighteen firms have their latest styles on show at the National Exhibition Centre, Ireland House in Dublin and they are optimistic about the future of the industry.

The shape of shoes to come is more difficult to forecast however. The trend seems to be in the direction of a more elegant model with lower heels. But trouser suits, flared slacks, maxi dresses and short skirts are still creating havoc for the designers.

With all styles and ages catered for, prices for fashion shoes at the week-long exhibition range from £7 to £15.
