Although taking the title as Miss Roscommon, the newly crowned Miss Ireland hails from Co. Wexford. Twenty-year old Mairead is a trainee model with Betty Whelan Associates Ltd.

Mairead Cullen went on to represent Ireland in Miss World which took place at the Lyceum Ballroom in London. The winner of Miss World 1964 was Ann Sidney representing the United Kingdom.
