Ahead of the summer school, listen back to 1959 when Ciarán Mac Mathúna talked to Willie Clancy about one of his greatest inspirations and fellow piper Johnny Doran.

Willie talks about Johnny's physical appearance, his style of play, staying in his caravan, performing on the streets, and the reaction of his audience.

This recording was made in 1959.
