Members of the Chinese Students Union in Ireland gather outside the Chinese Embassy in Dublin to express their horror over the events that occured in China over the weekend.

The protests in Tiananmen Square on 4 June 1989 served to expose the deep splits within China. The protests resulted in a government crackdown on protesters in Tiananmen Square  resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, and thousands of arrests.
