RTÉ Archives launches a new exhibition on one of RTÉ's most versatile broadcasters, Proinsias Ó Conluain, who documented our cultural heritage in both Irish and English. Proinsias started out in Radio Éireann as a script-writer but his talents as a broadcaster were soon recognised and he was encouraged to become a presenter and producer. He went on to become a pioneering documentary maker in both Irish and English.
Following his death in 2013 Prionsias Ó Conluain's collection of notebooks, scripts, documents and photographs connected to his broadcasting career were deposited with RTÉ Archives.
This new exhibition by RTÉ radio producer and archivist, Ian Lee, demonstrates some of breadth of the contribution made by Proinsias Ó Conluain to Irish broadcasting.
Ian Lee will present the findings of his research at the BISA Conference 2014, to be held in Dublin on 16 and 17 May.
