Brendan O'Donnell is arrested following a shooting incident in this RTÉ News report broadcast on 7 May 1994. Earlier that day, he had abducted teenager Fiona Sampson from her home at Whitegate in Co. Clare and forced her to drive him in her family's car. He was wanted in connection with the disappearances of artist Imelda Riney, her son Liam and local curate Fr Joe Walsh.

The report shows Sampson being rescued near Derrygolen Forest and taken away in a garda helicopter. Superintendent Pat Boyle tells reporter Cathy Halloran that nobody was injured in the rescue and he is hopeful that the three missing people will be found. A massive search is underway on the Clare/Galway border.

The bodies of the three were later found in Cregg Wood.
