Christmas Message from President 1945

Speaking in Irish and English on his first Christmas day as President, Uachtarán na hÉireann Seán T. Ó Ceallaigh sends festive greetings to Irish people at home and abroad.

He speaks about the end of the war and the first Christmas in peace time for a number of years. The President also refers to Irish people who were involved in the services and expresses thanks all those who answered served their nation’s call in war time.

Ó Ceallaigh urges the young people of Ireland to continue to speak the Irish language and restore it to its proper place in Irish life.
