Earlier this week we asked for your help with identifying these officers and crewman. Thanks for all the feedback received we have now successfully identified everyone pictured.

The officers in the front row (left to right) are: Lieutenant Patrick Donnelly; Commandant Hugh O'Donnell; Captain Francis Condon; Lieutenant Paul Fry; Lieutenant John Finbar (Barry) Hanan.

The rear rank is composed of crewmen from Helicopter Squadron and they are (left to right): Cpl. John Manning; Cpl Michael Dunican; Cpl Flanan Garry; Cpl Terence Robinson; Airman William Booth (RIP); Flight Sergeant Patrick Carey; Cpl John Donnelly; and Sergeant William Byrne.

This photograph was taken at Baldonnel, Dublin 22 on the occasion of the impending visit of Pope John Paul II to Ireland. The photograph was used as part of the PR programme in the run up to his arrival at Dublin Airport.
