In 1990 Ireland became one of the first countries to be visited by a Romanian television crew following the fall of Ceaucescu.
Alasdair Jackson reports for RTÉ News on Victor Teodoru and his crew, who have come to Ireland to make a programme about the people in Ireland who fundraised and sent relief to Romania. These include Mircea Petcu, a Romanian and a violinist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra who organised a major concert to raise emergency funds for his native country.
There is a short clip from a Romanian television report that features Victor Teodoru reporting on the arrival of aid parcels from Ireland.
An RTÉ News report broadcast on 29 January 1990.
