TEXT COSTS
* Ad placement instructions by text are charged at 60c plus standard network charge (reversed-billed by confirmation message).
* Cost of receiving messages from and answering respondents by text is 60c per text (reversed- billed by confirmation message).
* Cost of reply to an ad by text is €2.50 per text (reversed- billed by confirmation message). Texts sent are charged at normal network rates. You can cancel the service at any time.
If you text TDDATE to 53030 (60c) you will receive a box number and pin number and a 1800 number to call to record a message. You must record this to complete your ad.
All text messages sent must be no more than 160 characters. SMS shortcodes are reversed-billed charged at the following rates: 53030- 30c; 53033-60c; 57030 - €2.50. All messages will be charged for including any error messages.
How to use the text service:
You can contact other TeleDating users by sending a text direct to their phone. Don’t worry, both your mobile number and the number of the person you are texting with will be kept completely confidential. This service is available on O2, Vodafone and Meteor.
You can either place an ad via text, reply to an advert that you’ve seen on screen and liked direct via text, or, if you are an advertiser, you can receive replies direct to your phone. Please see the costs page for full details of all of these steps. And if you are an advertiser, you can also get free voicemail alerts letting you know how many unlistened messages you have each week.
You are charged for the text service only when you receive either a ‘notification of delivery message’, or a ‘notification of failure message’. In each case a charge is made. When no notification is received, no charge has been made. This is because you either have a poor signal or an unsupported network. To unsubscribe from the SMS service text the word 'END' followed by a space and then the 6 digit Box Number of the ad you wish to unsubscribe from the SMS service and send to the short code 53033 (60c). If you wish to unsubscribe your phone completely - thus cancelling all ads and all interactions just text STOP to 53033. See page for all pricing details.
How to place an advert via text:
When placing an advert by text, make sure you begin your SMS message with the correct start word-TD and must be followed by the word Date.
There should be no spaces or punctuation within the start word. After the start word leave a single space and enter a message of your choice. This must be less than 160 characters in total and should be sent to the relevant short code, please see text cost page for details.
How to reply to an advert via text
Only adverts with a TD and their box number may be replied to by SMS message. When replying to an advert by text, make sure you begin your SMS message with the correct start word - TD followed by a single space and then the 6 digit Box number which appears at the end of the advert. For example TD (space) 123456. After the Box number leave a single space and enter a message of your choice. This must be less than 160 characters in total and should be sent to the relevant short code, please see example on screen for details. It is essential that any zeros in the Box Number must be entered as such, not as the letter O. Similarly, the letters O and I must be entered as letters, not zeros and ones.
