Dunlevy and McCrystal best of Irish

Ireland’s Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal finished eighth in the blind/visually impaired tandem kilometre time trial as the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships got under way in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands on Thursday.
Dunleavy and McCrystal stopped the clock in one minute 13.579 seconds as the British duo of Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott triumphed.
Peter Ryan and Damien Shaw recorded a personal best of 1:06.323 as they finished in 12th place behind Britain’s Neil Fachie and Pete Mitchell.
Colin Lynch finished ninth in the C2 kilometre time trial in 1:19.83.
Eoghan Clifford, who burst on to the international scene in 2014, also finished ninth in 1:15.448 in the C3 kilometre time trial as Joseph Berenyi of the United States cruised to an emphatic win.
Lynch and Clifford return to the velodrome on Friday for the individual pursuits.
