50 new jobs for Brown Bag Films
31 Aug 2015 15:03
Dublin-based animation studio Brown Bag Films has announced that it will add 50 new members to its team after being acquired by the Canadian animation company 9 Story Media.
-
The Doc McStuffins creators made the decision to come together with the Canadian company to "grow and develop" its output as well as adding 50 new members to the team, according to a press statement.
-
They said: "What this deal will allow us to do is leverage the strengths of both companies and will result in our TV programmes and films being seen by even more children world-wide.
-
"Brown Bag Films and 9 Story have a shared vision of the children’s entertainment industry and a similar ambition and approach to creativity - together we will be an even stronger, more dynamic team. The move will also allow us to grow the team here by adding 50 more staff in the near future."
-
The Irish computer animation company, which has been based in Dublin since 1994, will still be lead by the original creators Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O'Connell.
-
Brown Bag was Oscar-nominated for Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty and won three Emmys for Peter Rabbit.
-
It is also behind children's favourites Octonauts, Doc McStuffins and Henry Hugglemonster.
