THE BLUE OF THE NIGHT
This week Carl and Eamonn will uncover
some lesser-known pieces as well as the
favourites of one of the foremost Latin
American composers of the 20th century,
Heitor Villa-Lobos.
His music combines indigenous elements
with Western classical music. As a
musicologist he travelled extensively
throughout Brazil, collecting and
documenting folk pieces which inspired
a considerable amount of his work.
