METEOROLOGICAL SITUATION AT 2100:
A southerly airflow over Ireland is strengthening as a deepening depression of 996 hPa approaches from the west. The depression will track northeastwards to the north of Ireland. Associated warm and cold fronts will bring rain across the country overnight and in the morning with a westerly airflow following.

WIND:
Southerly force 6 or 7, increasing south to southwest force 7 or gale force 8 and reaching strong gale force 9 north of Slyne Head overnight, veering westerly in the morning and gradually decreasing force 5 or 6 during the day, then backing southwesterly and increasing force 7 or gale force 8 in the early evening, becoming westerly in the early night.

Strong to gale force westerly winds and reaching strong gale force on Munster coasts for a time, decreasing fresh to strong west to northwest later on Sunday. Persistent rain, mainly in the southern half of the country, clearing to scattered showers on Sunday.
