A low pressure system of 993 hPa in mid North Atlantic steers a warm front towards the southwest coast. This will extend northwards tonight and the west to southwest flow will back southerly while strengthening.

South force 3 or 4, increasing south to southeast force 5 to 7 overnight, possibly touching gale force by the end of the period.

Strong to near gale force southeast to south winds veering southwest and moderating for a time Monday morning, will increase strong to gale force again on Monday afternoon. Widespread rain, drizzle and fog, generally clearing from the west by Monday morning.
