A light to moderate northerly airflow covers the country as a weak ridge of high pressure builds over Ireland from the Atlantic today. Frontal troughs will approach the west coast overnight.

WIND:
Northwest force 2 to 4, becoming variable force 2 or 3 later this afternoon. Winds will become southeasterly overnight and will increase to force 5 or 6 and gusty by Sunday morning.

Mainly fair with just an isolated shower. Rain will develop later tonight and on Sunday morning.

VISIBILITY:
Fair at first, becoming moderate to poor in the rain later.

Northwest force 3 to 5, decreasing through the evening and becoming force 2 or 3 by early tonight. On Sunday morning winds will become southeasterly and increase force 3 or 4.

Outlook for a further 24 hours until 1200 Monday 25 August 2014:
Fresh to strong southeasterly winds with rain spreading eastwards. Some fog patches will form too. The rain will clear away to the east on Sunday night.
