Ireland remains in a strong, unstable northwesterly airstream which will begin to moderate and stabilise tonight. A weak warm front will approach western coasts on Wednesday morning and the flow will back west to southwest.

Northwest to west gale force 8 to strong gale force 9, decreasing force 6 or 7 overnight and backing west to southwest Wednesday forenoon. Further decreasing west to southwest force 3 to 5 by the end of the period.

Rain or hail showers, becoming isolated overnight. Rain developing later Wednesday morning in the west and north.

Good, occasionally moderate in showers or rain.
