METEOROLOGICAL SITUATION AT 0300:
A strong, moist southwest to west flow covers Ireland. Frontal troughs embedded in the flow, will track southeastwards today. A colder, more unstable west to northwest flow, will develop in their wake.

Southwest force 5 to 7 and gusty. Veering west to northwesterly this morning and decreasing force 4 to 6. But increasing westerly force 6 to gale force 8 and gusty, tonight.

Southwest force 6 or 7, but touching gale force 8 and gusty between Howth Head and Mizen Head and on the Irish Sea this morning. Winds gradually veering west to northwest this afternoon and evening and decreasing force 5 or 6.

Southwest force 7 or gale force 8 and gusty and possibly reaching strong gale force 9 in places. Winds veering west to northwest later this morning and early this afternoon and decreasing force 5 or 6.

Poor in rain, drizzle and fog, but becoming moderate to good in the clearance later.Warning of heavy swell: developing today on northern, western and southwestern coasts.
