RTÉ 2fm today welcomed gains to key daytime shows as it announced a significant 12-month programming and promotions plan. There were gains for Tubridy, The Colm Hayes Show, Larry Gogan's Golden Hour, Rick in the Afternoon, More Music Drive with Will Leahy and The Dave Fanning Show.

The station noted the very marginal decline on Breakfast with Hector. Said station-head John McMahon: "There's some really encouraging signals in these figures. Looking at 6-month trends there's strong indications of growth. We believe in 2fm and are determined over the next 12 months to re-assert our place in the listening habits of the Irish public. We promise more action and more excitement in 2012."

He continued: "We launched a 12-point plan with media agencies this morning ahead of the JNLR figures. Results of campaigns like the 2fm Toy Appeal - which collected toys to the value of over €1 million - told us that 2fm was making real connections with real people."

Announcing highlights from the year ahead, 2fm confirmed that

. it will be RTÉ's official Euro 2012 radio station, carrying commentary from all the Irish games and going on-the-road to Poland.
. Ryan Tubridy is taking the country back with his Greet on the Street Tour- he'll be meeting the public and taking over shop windows nationwide.
. Hector will be staging a takeover of the Olympia Theatre in Dublin with 1200 guests,
. Colm Hayes will be teaming up with Jedward and Universal Ireland for a Euro 2012 charity anthem with a difference.
