- Qualified tutor/facilitator under auspices of INTO in professional development of primary teachers on Infant Education and Primary Science. Also planning team member of INTO Primary Science course content
- Early career included working in Dept of Social and Family Affairs; The IDA and The Irish Embassy London
- Enjoys reading, walking, gardening; member of a sailing club and book club
- Born in Co Kerry, grew up in West Cork and now living in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin
- Married with four adult children and two grandchildren
