The RTÉ 2fm Toy Appeal for St. Vincent de Paul in association with SuperValu is well underway and, with the help of listeners around the country, will get its wish that every child gets a toy this Christmas. Next week, 2fm is bringing the Toy Appeal on the road this week with a series of live broadcasts from across the country.

On Wednesday 5 December, Tubridy (9am – 11am) combats budget-day blues with a live show from Bamba Toymaster featuring toys galore, live music and Gabriel’s mobile 2fm Toy Appeal Dublin Bus will be on hand to ferry toys to St Vincent de Paul.

On Friday 7 December, Rick O’Shea (2pm – 4.30pm) broadcasts live from SuperValu in Gort, Co. Galway.

Saturday 8 September sees Ruth and Paddy bring their Weekenders show live from SuperValu in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.

The RTÉ 2fm Toy Appeal for St. Vincent de Paul is now in its third year and was born out of the hugely successful Toys for Tubs initiative in 2010. Last year, the 2fm Toy Appeal saw some 60,000 toys donated and distributed to families in need, worth in the region of €1,200,000.

Once again listeners will be able to donate toys at SuperValu’s 195 stores nationwide. Meanwhile, listeners will also be able to donate online at www.2fm.ie/toyappeal or www.svp.ie/toystore.
