RTÉ 2fm Dress Up for Barnardos week runs from Monday 22nd October through to Friday, 26th of October. Dress Up Friday will be the focus of the week with thousands of people all over Ireland already signed up to shake off their suits and uniforms and Dress Up Funny for Money!
2fm’s Hector Ó hEochagáin said: “On Friday 26th of October we want everyone to put on a costume and Dress up Funny for Money! People can get involved in Dress Up for Barnardos in so many ways: throw a dress-up party at work or get your child’s school involved; you can go the whole hog or just throw on a wig and some funny glasses. It’s going to be a massive campaign for a great charity, so please join in and Dress Up Funny For Money with Barnardos and 2fm.”
Members of the public, schools or businesses who wish to register for a free fun pack or get more information should visit www.2fm.ie/dressup or call 1850 217 217.
Barnardos Director of Fundraising and Marketing Ruth Guy says: “The thinking behind the campaign is really simple – by Dressing Up Funny for Money you are making a contribution to changing a child’s life for the better. You can Dress Up anywhere and anything! Hold your own event in your school, classroom or office, sponsor your teacher or boss to Dress Up Funny, dress up your house, dog, cat or car! We don’t mind what you do as long as you do it for money! It’s all fun and will make a huge difference to children and families we work with.
“Each year Barnardos works with more than 6,300 children and families through our project centres located in 42 communities throughout Ireland. We’re thrilled to receive the support from 2fm and their listeners again this year and hope that people let their silly side out and enjoy themselves for the day while supporting Barnardos’ work!”
All money raised through events, sponsorship and text donations will go directly to fund Barnardos work with vulnerable children and families in Ireland. There are numerous ways to get involved:
