    Rose Of Tralee

    The Sunday Independent's, Katy Harrington speaks to Ryan about why the Rose of Tralee is embarrassing.

    A former rose, Denise Murphy speaks to Ryan but argues that the Rose of Tralee is a celebration of Ireland which show cases it to the world.

    Ryan also chats to Caroline Hogan about the Rose of Tralee. Caroline’s daughter and son are in Sydney, Australia. Her daughter Ciara was at a selection dinner for the Sydney Rose were 400 women turned up. Caroline feels that it is not a beauty pageant and that it is not a lovely girl’s competition. One of the greatest exports that we have is the Rose of Tralee. Caroline speaks about living in Ireland while her children are working and living in Australia.
