    SOAK IN SESSION (REPEAT)

    SOAK IN SESSION (REPEAT)

SOAK/Bridie was born in Belfast, but grew up in Derry. She began to learn guitar aged 14, and produced her first collection of self-penned songs only a year later, before being ‘discovered’ via the Derry Playhouse’s Jammhouse in early 2012, when she was only 15 years old.  Since then she has won the NI Chordblossom ‘Double A Side’ competition, been a finalist in the Spotify A&M Awards 2012, and gigged extensively. Her forthcoming ‘Blud’ EP appears later this week. In the meantime, here’s another chance to hear the Session that she recorded for Dan on The Alternative last year. http://www.soakmusic.net/

PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING IN THE RTE 2FM SESSION

PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING IN THE RTE 2FM SESSION

In their own words, Public Service Broadcasting “sample old public information films and archive material and set them to new music. Live, the films are screened simultaneously as laptops are fiddled with, drums are pounded, Theremins are wafted at, guitars are bashed and banjos furiously plucked. Teaching the lessons of the past through the music of the future.” The London-based act toured Ireland in May, and stopped by to record this session, and interview with Dan. http://publicservicebroadcasting.net
