    SAVAGES LIVE FROM SWEDEN

They’re a no nonsense Rock band. When you see them live, they don’t have much to say, they just play. As we approach the 2014 Electric Picnic, let’s listen to one of the highlights of last year’s Picnic with this set from Savages, which was recorded at Debaser Hornstulls Strand, Stockholm in March of this year.

Recorded and mixed for Swedish Radio P3 Live by Mats Landberg, and Produced for P3 Live by Tommy Ericsson.

ALBUMS OF THE WEEK: THE #S, SINEAD O’CONNOR, & SLOWPLACELIKEHOME

There’s no messing around on the debut album from The #s. The self-titled record has an average of two minutes. Comprised of Conor Lumsden on drums, Cian Nugent on bass, Eddie Kenrick and Seán Goucher on guitars, with “everyone singing”. A killer album if ever there was one!

It’s been called Sinead O’Connor’s strongest album since ‘Universal Mother’, and you’d be foolish to dismiss ‘I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss’. Sinead sounds motivated, and determined, and her vocals have never sounded better.

‘Romola’ from SlowPlaceLikeHome is an album that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It delivers everything that I hoped for not matter how unreasonable! It may turn out to be a slow burner, but one you should give a chance; you won’t be disappointed.

BURIED TREASURE - 'TAN BAJO' BY DAVILA 666

“Davila 666's sophomore album is still rowdy enough for an impromptu weekend binge with a few friends, but it also offers enough carefully crafted tunes and feedback-streaked textures to fill your headphones.” That’s what Pitchfork said about Davila 666’s second and unfortunately final album. Every word of this is true!

Dan features ‘Tan Bajo’ as this week’s Buried Treasure.
