LE GALAXIE'S FIVE-TRACK SHUFFLE The Alternative To Sleep! Alt Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Electro, plus the RTE 2fm studio sessions, & live music from across Europe.

2013 has been a pretty spectacular year for Le Galaxie. After stand-out sets at Longitude and The Electric Picnic, they've grown into an even greater live force.

Their latest single 'Lucy Is Here' clocks in at just over two minutes, and is the first indication of what we can expect from their second album. They play their biggest Irish headline show next month at The Olympia Theatre in Dublin. They've also just been confirmed as one of the Irish acts that will play at the Eurosonic Festival in The Netherlands in January.

You may or may not know the name John Haggis, but he's someone who been involved (in various capacities) in the making of so much excellent music over the years. From fronting the vastly underrated Emperor Of Icecream in the 1990s, to working with artists like Katie Kim and Deaf Jo, he's equal part prolific as gifted. His Band Of Clouds band have just released album number two 'Appear To Float'. Subtlety is BOC's weapon of choice on this stunning album.

San Fernim's self-titled debut is one of those rare albums that leaves you pleasantly perplexed! In a time where it seems all music must fit a certain shaped box, 'San Fernim' simply won't conform. It's like that strange kid that lived around the corner when you were growing up; it takes you a while to realise that they're individual and effortlessly cool.

The description ‘stop-gap album’ has been used to describe Shearwater’s ‘Fellow Travelers’ album. Covers album perhaps encompases what this is slightly better with the band covering acts that they’ve toured with over the years. Hear Clinic’s ‘Tomorrow’, ‘I Luv The Valley Oh!!’ by Xiu Xiu, and a pretty decent version of Folk Implosions ‘Natural One’. While not a revelation, ‘Fellow Travelers’ is an interesting of songs performed in a solid manner.
