    FOALS LIVE AT LONGITUDE

When you look back at the year 2013 in years to come, Foals will definitely be one of the bands that defined the year. Their third album 'Holy Fire' went top ten in Ireland, the UK, and Australia, and saw them take to the road for most of the year. Part of that tour was a headline set at the Longitude festival.

This set was recorded on the main stage at Longitude at Marley Park on Saturday, July 20th.

ALBUMS OF THE WEEK: SAND, LASERTOM, & CATE LE BON

We have three new albums of the week on the show this week. SAND is the current solo project from Sam Healy of North Atlantic Oscillation. You could call it a personal album, but it’s certainly not overly introspective. Pack with alt-pop tunes ‘SAND’ is an album that may break through many people’s radar very soon.

Lasertom has been doing wonderful things for quite a while now with the help of a band of cohorts known as The Blast Crew (and as part of Ships). ‘Drift’ finds him minus his regular crew, but the music hasn’t lost any of its cleverness or craft. This is one of a number of Irish albums that raises the standard of debut albums to a level that is going to be tough to compete with.

She’s from Wales, and she has a habit of making music that you’ll find hard to forget, or even get out of your head. Cate Le Bon’s current ‘Mug Museum’ album is her best work so far, and has been receiving applause from all quarters. It’s thought-provoking, sombre, but beautiful.
