Elbow and Explosions in the Sky The Alternative To Sleep! Alt Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Electro, plus the RTE 2fm studio sessions, & live music from across Europe.

Elbow headlined the Friday night at last year’s Electric Picnic, and turned in a sterling performance that delighted the Picnic folk at the main stage. They ran through the bulk of their hits, with Guy Garvey’s usual stage charm thrown in, this was a great way to wrap up day one of Picnic 2012.

This set was recorded by RTE 2fm at The Electric Picnic on Friday, August 31, 2012.

Call them cinematic, call them explosive, Explosions In The Sky are one of the most powerful live forces around. This set at last year’s Electric Picnic was proof of this, as they powered their way through their set on the Main Stage. The Texas outfit have released six studio albums, and show no signs of relenting – they are a truly special band.

This set was recorded by RTE 2fm at The Electric Picnic on Saturday, September 1, 2012.

It’s album number three from Julia Holter. So, has she embraced glam, and created a Rock Opera? No, certainly not; ‘Loud City Song’ continues Holter’s exploration of of the ethereal, and drawing inspiration from Joni Mitchell and the poetry of Frank O’Hara. It wouldn’t be outrageous to say that Julia Holter is one of the individual artists making music these days.
