    Dan Hegarty - The Alternative

GAVIN FRIDAY - BACK & FORTH The Alternative To Sleep! Alt Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Electro, plus the RTE 2fm studio sessions, & live music from across Europe.

He’s the man who brought us Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, and The Jesus & Mary Chain via his label Creation Records. Alan McGee has already left an indelible imprint on music; but he’s not finished. He’s back with a new label 359 Music.

One of his recent signings to the label is Irish/French band Mineral. You may recognise the vocalists – Craig Walker, who much of the late 1980s and 1990s as front man with Power Of Dreams. Dan chats to both of these gents on The Alternative.

He’s a singer, songwriter, composer, and actor; Gavin Friday is a man who wears many hats so-to-speak. The former Virgin Prune has had a celebrated solo career, while also immersing himself in the world of film scores (The Boxer, In America, Get Rich or Die Tryin', etc.)

After a gap of a decade and a half, Friday followed up the ‘Shag Tobacco’ album with ‘Catholic’ in 2011. Dan files through Mr Friday’s work on this week’s Back & Forth.
