PJ HARVEY- BACK & FORTH The Alternative To Sleep! Alt Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Electro, plus the RTE 2fm studio sessions, & live music from across Europe.

The two-time winner of the Mercury Music Prize has constantly resisted the lure of the bright lights and financial rewards of the mainstream. In doing so PJ Harvey has created her own modest musical legacy.

This may sound somewhat over-the-top, but once you look at the catalogue of material that she's created over the past twenty years, you'll find it hard not to agree that Harvey is a true treasure. Dan will bring you tracks from her on this week's Back & Forth.

Sophisticated and folkie are often misleading descriptions, but they go some way to sum up part of what Snow Ghosts have created on 'A Small Murmuration'. At times ethereal, Snow Ghosts have brought us an album to cherish.

Add ‘Everything Fall’ by Come On Live Long to the list of strong Irish debut album released this year. You can really see this album being embraced by many; the reference points are far and wide, mixed with a strong identity of its own.

Congo Natty is one of the many guises of Michael West, although you may know him best for his work as Rebel MC (‘Street Tuff’ – 1989). ‘Jungle Revolution’ is his latest album, and it’s his most accomplished. More than 20 years on from his biggest hit, West/Natty sounds fresh and energised.
