SUZANNE VEGA LIVE AT CABARET VAUBAN, BREST (FRANCE)

Singer Songwriter is a description that's almost used as a term of abuse these days, but this encompasses what Suzanne Vegas has been doing for more than three decades. She became a household name in the 1980s with songs like 'Luka' and 'Tom's Diner' (both from the multi-million selling album 'Solitude Standing'). More recently, Vega guested on one of the standout tracks on 'Dark Night Of The Soul' by Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse.

This set was recorded by Radio France - France Bleu on October 21, 2012 for the EBU.

ALBUMS OF THE WEEK – HALVES, THESE NEW PURITANS & O EMPEROR

Halves follow-up their stunning 2010 debut album 'It Goes, It Goes (Forever & Ever)' with ‘Boa Howl’. The album is out on July 5th, and they embark on a nationwide tour the following day. ‘Boa Howl’ is a beautiful album that showcases a band that are fast becoming masters of their craft.

If 2008’s ‘Beat Pyramid’ is These New Puritans’ yin, then 2013’s ‘Field Of Reeds’ is definitely their yang. If anything, this new album shows just how versatile TNP are. They’ve always existed outside of whatever trend is going on, and ‘Field Of Reeds’ sees them continue this in striking fashion.

O Emperor are a band that have reference points that spread far and wide. From Radiohead to The Beatles, through to The Flaming Lips and The Byrds; they’re sound has steadily built and matured over the years. 'Vitreous' their latest album finds them in fine form, changing direction, but rarely leaving you in any doubt that they are a full control of their upward trajectory.
