SCREAMING DEMONS OF TRASHVILLE IN RTE 2FM SESSION – MONDAY, APRIL 29

From the ashes of Dublin’s cult garage punk legends the Things comes the newest band to inject a much-needed dose of punk noise into Dublin’s live music scene. Neilo Thing, and Vinny Duggan, together with Brian Gallagher (ex-Mighty Stef/Humanzi) have produced a stripped down, kick in the balls of a debut EP ‘The First Cut is the Cheapest’.

Former Things bandmate Jimmy Cullen has recently taken over behind the drum kit, reuniting a trio with a love of Ramones-style three-chord hysteria, sped-up Misfits mayhem, and a Stooges up-yours attitude. The live gigs are fast, furious and not for the faint of heart.

STEVE MASON – BACK & FORTH – TUESDAY, APRIL 30

Once the lead vocalist with the much-loved Beta Band, Steve Mason has managed to blend experimentation with pop hooks. Through his time in The Beta Band, performing under guises such as King Biscuit and Black Affair, Mason is one of modern day music’s unsung heroes. Dan will feature music from various stages of his career in this week’s Back & Forth.
