    The Hit

In studio today are Mark Walsh and Gerry Fleming, songwriters of the final two songs in The Hit.  Only one of these songs can make it to the finale on Friday.

Songwriter Mark Walsh, the writer of Mundy's entry Jigsaw Man, went out for a cycle to take a break and came back with this song in his head and wrote it in 10 minutes. He is delighted with Mundy's interpretation of his song. You can download it on iTunes or text Song1 to 57082 to buy it directly to your phone.

The legendary Finbar Furey chose Gerry Fleming's song The Last Great Love Song to be his single. The song is now available on iTunes or you can download it directly to your phone by texting Song2 to 57082

Already through to the finale next Friday are last week's winner Samantha Mumba and her song Somebody Like Me, Johnny Logan with Prayin' For You, Ryan O'Shaughnessy with Who Do You Love? and The Stunning with Run and Hide.

    Junior Arthritis

Today and tomorrow secondary school kids are heading back to school and with it comes all the pressures that teenagers have to deal with - but some teenagers have more to deal with than most - two such teenagers are 16 year old Ruby and 13 year old Daniel. Both are in school in Dunlavin

Ruby has to have regular treatment in Crumlin Hospital for anti-inflammatory IV treatment. Daniel's treatment involves taking pain killers and anti-inflammatories. They have both had to adapt their lifestyles to accommodate their condition, but have a Facebook Group where they can connect with 30 other teenagers who have the same problems.

Arthritis Ireland organises adventure weekends for teenagers for the past two years. They go down to the Outdoor Centre in Birr and do all sorts of activities and have loads of fun. They stayed for three nights and loved every moment of it.

As part of Juvenile Arthritis Month, Arthritis Ireland is encouraging people to sell Jasper pins to support children living with arthritis. More information is avilable at http://www.arthritisireland.ie/ or please call (01) 647 0207.
