    Cannabis and Teenagers

    There has been some controversy recently over comments made by Bressie regarding the legalisation of cannabis. Colm read an e-mail from a mother who is concerned because her 16 year old son has effectively dropped out of school and the listener believes that the cause of this is her son’s habitual smoking of cannabis. Whether cannabis is legal or not it seems teenagers today have no problem in accessing it – but what can the effects be on one so young? And what can this mother do?

    IMF Warning

    The Troika have urged the Irish government to take action on mortgage arrears and high-lighted the slow-progress in this area thus far. The Troika report shows concern that ‘banks report that a significant number of consumers are prioritising unsecured debt over the repayment of their secured mortgage debt’.     Cycle Against Suicide

    Mary O’Keeffe is running a cycle in conjunction with the Cycle Against Suicide on Sunday April 28th – People who register for Mary’s Cycle will get a Cycle Against Suicide jersey. Mary is a member of a cycle club and her cycle is open to everyone and every kind of bike – Mary herself will be on a high-nellie. The cycle will be from Abbeyleix to Ballacolla to Durrow – It’s about 20k and not too hard. Mary’s husband Eddie died through suicide in December 1996.
