Breakfast with Hector
Hector took off to Clonmel, Co. Tipperary after yesterday’s show to visit Ireland’s very own Royal Celtic baby. Baby Owen William O’Donnell was born on the same day and at the very same time as the new Prince of Cambridge. His mum, Donna, had spoken to Hector on the show and was delighted to see him when he arrived into South Tipperary General Hospital to visit her and Owen. Donna has had two children in the space of 13 months and Hector told her to slow down. Lots of innuendo ensued! John Reid from Enfield managed to win himself a Breakfast with Hector mug for his witty comment. Download the podcast now to hear the fun in full.
Don’t Panic saw a new contestant under pressure but maintaining focus this morning. Steve Breen from Dublin challenged Marian Neely from Donegal and managed to answer everything correctly inside the time limits. Steve won a pair of tickets to see Tommy Tiernan, Kevin McAleer and Gearoid Farrelly at the Vodafone Comedy Festival taking place at the end of this week in the Iveagh Gardens, Dublin. And one night bed and breakfast for a family of 4 in the four star McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris.
Londis gave away another €400 worth of vouchers this morning and another chance to win a 3 night family stay in the 5 star Fota Island resort including accommodation in a luxury lodge, B&B, passes to the wildlife park and €2,500 spending money. Sandra Bogan from Co. Longford was today’s winner. Sandra’s unique trait about Granard was about Michael Collins falling in love with a Granard woman - Kitty Kiernan when he stayed at her hotel. You can still pop in and have a pint at the bar, according to Sandra! Another chance to win tomorrow morning between 7-10am.
Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin’s number 1 family hotel gave Hector another overnight prize for 2 adults and 2 children or 4 friends today. ‘Rewind’ saw hits from the year 2006 such as Nelly Furtado’s Man Eater and Scissor Sister’s I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’. Congratulations to Mick Kelly in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare who was pulled out of the draw this morning and will be heading off to the Ballsbridge Hotel for an overnight stay.
More fun, chat and prizes to be won in the morning. Join us from 7-10am.
