Breakfast with Hector
On this Tuesday morning, Hector spoke to Duana McArdle about a 10 day celebration of Duffy’s taking place in Drumhowan Community in Co. Monaghan as part of the Gathering 2013. The festival will take place from 21st – 30th June 2013. The clan gathering will include many events including a world record attempt. For more information on the Duffy Gathering visit www.duffysallover.com.
Dubs v ROC saw Dub Pamela face Tipp woman Marie. Pamela was quick off the mark and in with her answers but Marie managed to even the score and went on to beat the Dub. Marie won a fantastic prize this morning of a top of the range smoothie maker, a copy of Now That’s What I Call 30 Years, a copy of the soundtrack of the Great Gatsby as well as 4 tickets to Disney on Ice’s brand new show, “Dare to Dream”. Hector will be looking for another Dub to challenge the Tipperary woman.
Caoimhe was on a long journey from New Ross to Belmullet. Four hours into the journey and just outside Strokestown, Caoimhe was forced to pull in as her engine light came on. Being a rented car, she didn’t know how to open the bonnet. Fortunately, a handsome young soldier came to her aid. Caoimhe emailed Hector to thank the man for his Random Act of Kindness but little did she expect the soldier to hear her email and contact BWH. And so begins a romantic tale of two people who randomly met on the side of the road, both single, both attractive, and both interested in the other. Shall love blossom on BWH? Tune in tomorrow 7-9am for an update on Caoimhe and Niall.

Hector and The People of The Year Awards are searching for The Dad of The Year 2013. Hector heard from Martina Gunnigle in Drogheda about her nomination of her husband, Kosta, as Dad of The Year 2013. He is a fantastic father to their three children and took moving to Ireland and learning English in his stride. To nominate a Dad go to www.peopleoftheyear.com. He can be of any age, any walk of life and from any part of Ireland, the one criteria is that he must have done something really extraordinary as a father to be considered. Closing date for entries is this Friday 14th June 2013.
Valerie and daughter, Hazel, were Cranky this morning in Cork. Hazel is in the middle of her Leaving Cert. exams with Irish and Biology papers today but it was mum, Valerie, who was stressing out over the whole thing! Hazel was as cool as a breeze. And in a double whammy, Hector spoke to Cranky Mairead. Mairead is one of the many Duffy’s from Monaghan and was not in the best form this morning. Mairead, at the top of her voice on her own in the car en route to work, sang the Cranky Car song.
