Breakfast with Hector
We’re back at base in Galway after a fantastic trip to Limerick. Keep Her Fit was a huge success and a big thank you to all the staff at the UL Sports Arena! Over 800 people attended and Hector and the team were delighted to meet old and new faces.
On this morning’s ‘How’s The Country’ Hector spoke with Mick Pender who is involved with Strictly Come Soccer in aid of The John Giles Foundation and Ireland’s Street Soccer Leagues. Strictly Come Soccer is taking place tonight, Friday 24th May in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin. The event is promising to be a very enjoyable night with TV3’s Andrea Hayes and Chief Executive of the F.A.I., John Delaney, hosting the charity event. Lots of celebrities will be in attendance and funds will be going to the very deserving charities.
Dubs v ROC had yet another new contestant, Niall Jones – Dub. Niall started off very confidently and managed to beat Tralee’s Peter Kennedy. Niall is now the Dubs v ROC champion and will be looking for a ROC opponent Monday morning. Text 51552 with your name and location to register. Niall won today’s prize of 2 weekend passes to The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2013. All this week’s winners were put into the hat and Thursday’s winner, Peter Kennedy – Tralee, won the overall prize of 3 nights bed & breakfast in the 4 star Great Northern Hotel Bundoran for the Rory Gallagher Festival Weekend.
‘What Class Of A Car Is It?’ was a Toyota Land Cruiser this morning. Hector and Aiken promotions had a great prize of gig tickets to a Live at the Marquee Cork event and overnight accommodation on the night of the gig at the luxurious 5 star hotel and spa at The Fota Island Resort. Today’s winner was Jim Ramsbottom from Portlaoise.
‘Gone To The Dogs’ allows everyone to get it off their chest every Friday morning on BWH RTÉ 2fm. Francis in Kilkenny felt that Hector, himself, had Gone To The Dogs. He hadn’t read out any of her requests and her son, Jack, had turned 12 recently. With thousands of texts daily, not everyone’s request will be read out. But on this occasion, Jack will be receiving a mug from Hector as a belated birthday present! Fionn in Dublin had a serious gripe with the wheel nuts on cars as they are tightened by pneumatic drills meaning making them extremely difficult to remove by hand! Suggesting “this is an issue for the UN”, Fionn won today’s Gone To The Dogs and will be sent to the Dogs for a night with friends. For more information check out www.igb.ie
Cranky Car was reversed on Hector this morning! Kate in Laois was Cranky because she couldn’t stand the Cranky Car song. It got stuck in her head regularly and yet she found it impossible to turn it off. Hector had to sing the Crank Car song at Kate for a change!
Have a great weekend and we will be back Monday morning at 7am on RTÉ fm. KHL.
