Breakfast with Hector
On this morning’s show Hector spoke with 12 year old Isabel from Dublin who has over two million downloads of her app. Isabel and her father Aidan who is originally from Dublin designed the fractions calculator app and came up with the idea while Isabel was doing her maths homework. “Calculator Plus” is the number one rated app on Amazon’s Android Store worldwide and was named as an essential Kindle app by USA Today.
Damien Flaherty from Roscommon lost his champion title this morning on Dubs v ROC. Dublin man, Colm Lawlor, out smarted the trucker this morning and managed to win himself an impressive prize in the process. Colm will be heading to the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2013 in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. He will receive 2 weekend passes to the Big Top Concerts and also be entered into the Grand Draw on Friday for the added prize of 3 nights Bed & Breakfast at the 4 Star Great Northern Hotel Bundoran for the weekend. Hector and the entire BWH Team are heading to UL in the morning for the largest simultaneous aerobics class Ireland has ever seen! Richie will be leading the class from 8am so make sure to join us in UL or tune in to RTÉ 2fm where ever you are and join in. According to Hector, the full team shall be out and sporting lycra, runners, t-shirts and 80’s style headbands- a sight not to be missed! We are all looking forward to Keeping Her Fit tomorrow in the UL Sports Arena in Limerick and will be broadcasting live between 7-9am.
A little bit of confusion appeared this morning on BWH. Should you lock the doors of the car while in it or not? George Michael was reported to have fallen out of a moving car in the news this morning and this led Hector on to some health and safety matters regarding seat belts and whether or not to lock the doors while driving the car. Lots of mixed responses were heard concerning this matter.
‘What Class Of A Car Is It?’ is back! This morning Hector played a car engine starting up and revving. But just which Class Of A Car was it? Rachel O’Brien from Laois was today’s winner and correctly answered a Honda Civic engine. Rachel managed to win herself tickets to see Jessie J Live at the Marquee Cork on July 7th as well as accommodation on the night in the four star River Lee Hotel in the heart of Cork City.
Cranky Car became Cranky School this morning as Hector received a call from 400 Cranky Heads in Gaelscoil Osrai. The Crankiest of all the teachers, Michelle Ní Bucaille, rang BWH this morning. The students sang a fantastic Cranky School song and even went on for a couple of extra verses to ensure no one remained Cranky this morning! The students will be taking part in a fun run on Sunday to raise money toward an astro turf pitch for the school.
The full BWH Team will be in UL tomorrow and we’re all looking forward to Keeping Her Fit and meeting some new faces!
